happy weekend to y'all

Hi, it's been a few days since my last - the everyday routine is keeping me busy. But I guess you'll all know what I mean.

didn't really work on anything new, making a custom order for another hermit crab, working on the pattern for Chubby Fish, this one will be a freebie =)
also crocheting a little bit at my first (yet unfinished) seahorses, I ordered new yarn to complete them, but it's just not the same kind of fun **sigh**

oh, something really cool, Sonny and Shear used one of my dolls in an ad of theirs, cool uh?

what I brought home

yesterday was a looong day, a few hours in the car each way, a few hours at the plant nursery, pretty imressive this Rühlemanns, really a lot of stuff to sniff and feel and watch and maybe even taste ^_^
I brought home seven plants, well actually only five, but my mom brought me two extra ones. Driving home we finally had lunch (at about 5 pm) and they dropped me off nearly 4 hours later, believe me I was dead! tired is not the right word to express how tired I was!
I still feel tired, but you can't care too much, right?

I even crocheted a little in the car, but not much, only the face of another chubby fish is done, if you would't know it's a fish you couldn't guess ^_^

Charly and Chubby

the job sucked up all my free time last week, also the hottest weather I can remember didn't made me pick up yarn and hook or needles last week, but on friday afternoon, Charly was looking at me with his eyeless head his cute armlike fins and he called out to me to finish him, so I did, I made some eyes and decided on one pair and sewed them to his head and he looks at my kinda sad 'i wanna have a friend' . . . well, I had this pair of eyes left over and they called FISH, I made a couple of sketches and Chubby was born, yet only on paper, but already so cute I needed to bring him to life in form of pink yarn. So there I went trying and pretty quickly Chubby was born, now they swim together through the sea ^_^



also when I opened my ravelry yesterday morning a suprise was awaiting me: I won 2nd Prize for my flower pot in the Crochet on Ravelry group.
big smile on my face brightend up :o), biiiig smile, I can tell you!
I feel so honored and my flower pot is even more special now.


and now I'm off to clean my room, my parents are visiting me tomorrow, first time I see them since last christmas (they live in Munich so it's quite a travel to see each other on a more regular basis) but I'm glad to see them again, it was about time and the bonus to their visit is that we're going to a huge plant nursery near Bremen to sniff and buy the best herbs and other plants available (note to self: don't forget the credit card)

finally it's friday

I'm so glad it's finally friday, as I'm sitting here with a cup of tea on my desk in my office thinking of this last week I just feel relaxation in look-out for the forthcoming weekend.
I spent my first days at the operating table actually making a stitch, I'm not a doctor, in no way, but my boss was thinking it was about time to try something new, and so I made a suture. Now there's only a few more minutes to write a quarterly report to prepare and do the regular laboratory stuff, whew!, I'm glad it's friday . . .

I am in raptures

I made the green seahorse yesterday and its soooooo adorable, I realy really fell in love with this, even if it's not even finished.
See the cute bending at the end of the tail? the lovely little snout? the oh so yummy belly?, it's even more charming than the orange pal I posted on on friday.
and what is very strange the body is only 8.5 inches / 21 cm high and I used 90 rows to complete it, ninety !!!, woah!, other dolls like the fairies (here or here) also are about that size and they don't consume as many rounds, not even close, I don't believe how differnt shapes get just by changing the techniques.

oh and also it uses great as a microphone replacement ^_^ just grab it by it's tail and start to behave like a superstar, hehe.

eye candy friday

I made another seahorse, changed the shaping, but running out of yarn, eek!, need to make another one - I guess, maybe a green one?
which shape do you like better, so far? the yellow or the orange one?, I think I prefer the yellow one and the next one, the green one will be like the yellow one as well, the tail will be longer as the tail of the orange seahorse and I hope more bended at the end/tip.

uuuhuh uh, new yarn arrived at my home =) new Wollmeise, the color is Zenzi and I love it, the first time I got to snag omething from the shop and I just click-click-click had new yarn, I actually seek for lace weight, the color is more or less unimportant, there are a few I would choose but the Pfauenauge would be in my top 10, or Birkenrinde or something like Wellensittichvogelfeder, there are a few shawls I like to make the Pretty As A Peacock Shawl or the South Seas Stole are on my wishlist, so the Pfauenauge (peacocks eye) would be perrrfect for the Pretty as a Peacock Shawl, and the South Sees would look awesome in another blue or greenish mix.
