yupp, finally the pattern for Alfred, my pigeon is available. Some of you already asked for it, so here you go =) make yourself a pigeon friend
If you bought the pattern and you find it hard to follow the instructions just convo me, I'll help the best I can.

Die Anleitung für Alfred ist da, sie ist wie immer auf English, aber auf meiner HP gebe ich ein paar nützlich Tipps und die Erklärungen für die englischen Häkelbegriffe, dann sollte es nicht ganz so schwer werden ;o) und wenn dann immer noch Fragen sind, fragt doch einfach mich, ich helfe euch gerne

Raja - the fairy

well Raja deserves her own post
she's the fairy I've written about, the one with the 'dog thing'
but take a look for yourself, I really like the way she turned out, she's my first amigurumi with knees, quite nice, altough I'm already thinking about calves and ankles
And as I've said in the previous post there is something missing in her face, I've tried some mouthes and noses, but nothing seems to be "the one thing" fitting
actually I wanted to add freckles, but her eyes are too dominant for freckles (my first try was a fairy with light blue eyes and pink lashes, so there freckles worked out just fine)
but with Raja it's not :-(
the dog thing is knitted
and the main pattern for her dress is from the candle flame shawl

naja, Raja verdient ihren eigenen Eintrag
Sie ist die Fee, über die ich schon geschrieben hab, die mit dem 'Hund oder so'
Aber seht selbst; Mir gefällt sie sehr gut, Raja ist mein erstes Amigurumi mit Knieen, sehr hübsch, aber ich denk auch schon über Waden und Knöchel nach, so schwer kann das nicht sein
Im Gesicht fehlt ihr aber dennoch irgendwas, ich hab schon verschiedene Münder und Nasen ausprobiert aber so richtig zu passen, scheint nichts.
Meine erste Fee hatte Sommersprossen, sie hatte helblaue Augen und rosa Wimpern, da hat das gut gepasst, aber bei Raja sind die Augen einfach zu dominant dafür
der Hund oder so ist übrigens gestrickt

mmmmh, what happend . . ?

hey folks, what happend?,
- summer started, and the rain came ;-)
- G8 summit was just around the corner, and the police came (I haven't seen that much police on one spot ever, and I don't think I will ever see that much police again)
- I've made some more Sheldons and Molly, did I tell you of Molly?, she's Sheldons Mommy, and a huge turtle and for this simple reason Mommy Molly will remain a single parent, she is eating too much yarn by far
- I've listend to all the Harry Potter books (reading would have been too time consuming) and now I just can't wait to lay my hands an book number 7
- what else - mmmh - oh, a new Amigurumi doll is finished, well almost, it's a fairy with her dog thing?! it's furry - so it is a dog thing
and she's only finished almost because she's missing a mouth, I'm not sure if there should be a mouth, or a nose, see for yourself and tell me what you think

Hallo zusammen, was passiert ist?
ne ganze Menge, auch wenn hier nichts davon steht
- der Sommer hat angefangen und hat auch gleich den Regen mitgebracht
- G8 war gleich um die Ecke, ein bisschen beängstigend wars schon, wenn auch vor allem nervig, die ganze Polizei und die Sperren und der ganze Sicherheitsschmu haben ein wenig Umstände gemacht, aber nun ists vorbei und das Leben wieder normal und ich kann sagen, dass ich noch nieeee so viel Polizei auf einen Haufen gesehen hab und das wohl auch nie mehr werde
- Ich hab noch ein paar Sheldons gemacht und eine Molly, hab ich schon von Molly erzählt?, Molly ist Sheldons Mutti, und auch furchtbar süß, aber auch furchtbar hungrig :-( deswegen wird sie auch alleinerziehend bleiben, weil sie einfach viel zu viel Garn verschlingt
- Ich hab mir inzwischen alle Harry Potter Bücher nochmal angehört (zum Lesen war dann doch zu wenig Zeit) und nun kann ichs kaum erwarten, bis ich endlich Teil 7 in den Händen halte
- was noch?, oh ja ich hab noch nen neuen Amigurumi kreiert, es ist ne Fee geworden, mit ihrem Hund, oder so - das Ding ist ganz schön haarig, deswegen Hund oder so
aber so ganz fertig ist sie irgendwie noch nicht, es fehlt noch eine Art Mund oder Nase oder so, ich kann mich nicht entschließen, schaut selbst

Hey there, now you can purchase my first pattern ever. I've actually never thought about selling my patterns but rather my dolls. But seems like I don't have enough time to make some dolls, besides inventing new patterns is much more fun than redoing elder ones. So there you go. My first amigurumi pattern.
If you bought it and you find it hard to follow the instructions just convo me, I'll help the best I can. It's my first one and I might have slipped some confusing phrases.

Hallo da draußen. Nun ist sie dann doch endlich da: Die Anleitung für meine Schildkröte Sheldon. Die Anleitung ist zwar auf englisch aber, für alle, die es trotzdem versuchen wollen und vielleicht mit den englischen Häkelbegriffen nicht zurecht kommen, habe ich auf meiner HP eine Seite mit Erläuterungen zusammengestellt. Wenn ihr dann immernoch Fragen habt, schreibt mir einfach, ich helf dann liebend gern weiter.

Due to frustration of gauging I started a new top (leaf panel top from karabella yarns).
I had little difficulties at first with the gauge (ugh again) but my stitch gauge was pretty correct so I felt like adapting the pattern to fit my gauge was not the worst I could do. And for the positive side effect I changed the decreases and increses a bit so it would better fit my booty =)

the yarn is not as red as the picture wants to show you; more a coral type of red

and I am waitung for the postman . . . wait a minute mr postman, yeah yeah yeah

sockyarn, alot of sockyarn is somewhere out there, enclosed in a box, alone . . . maybe freezing . . . maybe even frightened

I don't like my swatch, no I don't

I've been gauging for my romatic turquoise, which would have been rather green than turquoise, for about six times, SIX TIMES ! ! !

and I couldn't find any needle size that would fit

believe me when I say, I've been frustrated, I've even contacted knitscene to ask for advice, they've been very kind and helpful, now I know, my lovely yarn might not have been the right choice, I could try blocking once more but I doubt that would help much. It's a 60% cotton, 40% polyamide yarn and I think I'll need to look for a different yarn to make this jacket *snivel*

but to help me out of my bad mood I made some new stitch markers
small sizes, to fit my stocking patterns or rather needles

I've ordered a lot of wool last saturday to start my sock passion, well my 'knee high passion', I've never been a sock person, never even made socks myself before, but now I figure it's about time - I WILL make my own stockings


Ich bin heute nicht sehr arg in Laune, weil ich für die obige Strickjacke 6 Mal (in Worten SECHS Mal) eine Maschenprobe gestrickt hab, das hat ewig gedauert und ich bin nun kein Stück weiter, weil ich immer noch keine passende Nadelgröße gefunden habe um die Maschenprobe einzuhalten, was mich nun schlussendlich zu der Überzeugung bringt, dass diese Wolle nicht für diese Jacke gedacht war und ich weiter suchen muss

aber um mich abzulenken, hab ich mir neue "Maschenmarkierer" (wer hat sich bloß dieses Wort ausgedacht) gebastelt, es sind kleine Größen, damit ich bald mit Strümpfe stricken anfangen kann
Ich hab noch nie Strümpfe gemacht, aber irgendwann ist bekanntlich immer das erste Mal, und nachdem ich mir am Samstag nen ganzen Haufen Sockengarn bestellt hab, bin ich schon ganz heiß drauf =)

practising

yep. The last days I spent practising, and I'm practising on fair isle. I never did fair isle before so I thought why not starting to learn fair isle two-handed right away? - which means to me I need to learn how to knit the english way.

And guess what? - it is a real challenge

I just can't find a way to handle the right hand yarn, no way for me to hold the yarn. I've googled to see how others handle it and it seems like most american knitters don't hold the yarn at all. *questionmarks all over my face and proof me wrong*

I've already improved a lot though, my tension got a lot better, it's not as stiff and it's not puckering anymore but still there is the right hand yarn *gosh*

any advice?

meanwhile I'm starting to cast on for a green jacket - gauging is something I can do =)


Üben - üben - üben, ja ich übe, zur Zeit vor allem wie man Jaquardmuster strickt und weil ich dass bisher noch nie gemacht hab, hab ich auch direkt angefangen das ganze beidhändig zu üben, weil, wenn ich eh bei null anfang, dann aber gleich richtig.

Aber das Garn mit der rechten Hand zu halten is ne wirkliche Herausvorderung.
Ich kriegs einfach nicht hin, nicht dass ichs nicht versuchen würde aber irgendwie, nee.

Jedefalls hat sich mein Jaquardstricken aber im Vergleich zu gestern schon wesentlich verbessert, immerhin ist die Fadenspannung inzwischen eingermaßen gleichmäßig und es zieht sich nicht zusammen. Trotzdem sind die Maschen noch ungleichmäßig =(

also wenn jemand rat weiß immer her damit, in der Zwischenzeit werd ich anfangen für meine grüne Strickjacke die Maschenprobe zu machen und ggf auch Maschen aufnehmen, das kann ich wenigstens =)
