and then a new year started

Hello my lovelies,

long time no see, right?
well to make a long story short, last summer I was bored of the internet, then I was busy applying for new position within my company, and whohhoooo I got the job! :)
In January I started the new job, better money, better evening times, but completely different schedule. I was working as a med rep and now I'm working from desk again, so completely different, but I love it!
And the real big bonus, I have free evenings again. As a med rep your day is quite nice when out and about and visiting your clients, but when you come home there's still a lot of work waiting at your "home office". I loved the fee spirit of my former position but OMG I so enjoy my evenings and sundays now. Nothing to do than cooking, family, friends and knitting.
And I can tell you there has been a lot of knitting happening this year already. I'm about to finish my second cardigan this year. Two knitted cardigans in just two month. That's an awful lot of knitting in my world!

But first let me show you a few impressions from the last couple of month, in case you don't follow my instagram (which you should, Tee-hee!)

-- Hallo ihr Zuckerschnuten

ganz schön lange ausser Sicht, was?

I made a hat for myself -- eine Mütze für mich

I went a little crazy with washi tape for my journaling -- ein bisschen arg wishi-washi ;) bei meiner Art des Project Life

I made a "pinterest made me do it cake", looked fantastic, tasted good, was my birthday cake, somehow -- mein erster Blumenkuchen, frei nach pinterest, toll geworden ist er, und sowas wie mein Geburtstagskuchen

I went stash busting and came home with these beauties (they're going to be a cardigan too, desk people can wear a lot of cardigans, right?) -- beim Wollwechsel war ich auch, aus gefühlt 20 Teilen wurden diese drei Schönheiten, sie sollen auch eine Strickjacke werden, am Schreibtisch kann man doch bestens Strickjacken anziehen, oder?

made a hat for my man and enjoyed autumn: -- eine Mütze für ihn gab es auch

enjoyed the "Lichtgrenze", marking 25 years of a united Germany, with light balls all along the former wall of Berlin -- und wir haben die Lichtgrenze abgelaufen, schon beeindruckend war das

started my first cardigan, and went all happy over my first vertical buttonhole -- die erste Jacke, mit vertikalem Knopfloch, ich war so stolz auch mich

showed a few of my journal pages -- ein kleiner Einblick in meine Tagebücher

finished the first cardigan (of a few more to come) -- die erste Strickjacke ist fertig

ate a weird egg for breakfast -- ein äusserst komisches Ei zum Frühstück

started the next cardigan -- und die zweite geht los

bought him some flowers for Valentines Day -- ich hab ihm Blumen zum Valentinstag mitgebracht

ate "a bit" of sushi -- ein klein wenig Sushi gab es auch

and

last but not least caught the cold so I had some time with TV on the sofa. -- und zu guter Letzt hat mich ne dicke Erkältung vor den Fernseher auf die Couch gebannt

I hope you had a nice last six month as well and read you soon :) -- ich hoffe eure letzten Monate waren toll, bis bald

hugs, Diana

summer quickie

Hey there, two weekends ago I was visiting my boyfriend in Koblenz. It was the hottest weekend so far and we spent a wonderful time.

Koblenz is in the western side of Germany and the Rhine runs right through:

above you can see both sides of the Rhine, people sunbathing on the right and the fortress Ehrenbreitstein on the far left.

overall Koblenz is a beautiful town with lots of things to see and we enjoyed ourselves ^__^

I even got a sunburn - let's all have a wonderful summer, hugs and Cheers, Diana

p.s. I had my very first Radler too

_________

Hallo zusammen,

Goodbye September

Hello October. September was filled with quite some work and a new amigurumi design. Now I'm curious what October will bring along. So far the weather turns colder and the leaves start falling. I love this time of the year when everything gets calmer and cozier

1. Together: I love a good breakfast with all of us together

2. My name begins with: D .. my first try on coloring on my phone

3. Lines: somewhere in Brandenburg/Germany some birds sit on power poles

4. Alone: first day at a hotel for a science exhibition, there were so many people .. the only time to be alone was on the toilet

5. Here forever: and the training marathon began, it felt like I would be staying there forever (I would see this room again next week and the week that followed)

6. Getting ready: self-explaining, right?

7. White: oh that was cool, Saturday morning, had breakfast at my boyfriends place and went grocery shopping afterwards, on the way back home I saw these lying on the lawn, perfectly fine, now they're mine ^__^

8. Made by me: I finally finished my beloved granny blanket

9. On the wall: a mirror at the hotel

10. Sweet: chocolate money/coins .. didn't ate these for ages. Do you have this sweet at your home as well?

11. What you did today: baking birthday cupcakes in the evening

12. Shadow: of a wine glass at the hotel (told you I was at hotels A LOT this month)

13. Unexpected: a cupcake for breakfast ... what else to say?

14. Liquid: water

15. Season: first signs of autumn start appearing

16. Frame: have you ever tried to make a frame with your fingers and still take the picture with your phone? it is impossible, believe me, I've tried

17. In front of me: that was a funny day .. and in front of me was some yarn bombing too .. in the middle of nowhere too!

18. Vintage: I just couldn't find anything antique that day

19. What is this?: my first birthday card arrived

20. In the morning: I usually eat something ^__^

21. Rule of thirds: the rule of thirds is a photographic technique to divide a picture into three equal parts horizontally as well as vertically. I placed my beginning mini mermaids tails right in one of the corners of such a dividing line

22. Made me smile: it was my birthday and I had beloved people sing for me ♥ flowers ♥ and new slippers for my boyfriends home ♥

23. From my childhood: a little plush toy dog, I don't remember its name but it sits in my kitchen, watching me cook

24. Space: still blank, so put in here whatever you can think of ^__^

25. H is for…: hair .. that morning my hair had its own will, flying all around, but I guess that's what it will be like for the next couple of month as I'm trying to grow out my pixie cut

26. Curve: I had planed to take a picture of my new donut baking pan .. read a post on baking donuts a few weeks ago and loved the simplicity of the idea. Baking a few donuts and glaze them with chocolate whenever you feel the need for them .. yum

27. WTF?: at our regular stitch'n'bitch I came across the most old fashioned swift I've ever seen, kind cool!

28. 10 o’clock: I was grocery shopping and forgot to take a picture

29. Gold: goldbears by haribo .. I just had way too many sweets in September and need to be strong this month!

30. Found: and last but not least in September another autumn greeting .. found some acorns

I hope everyone had a blast last month, I sure did. see you soon. ♥ Diana

finally a finished object - revival dress

so I finally managed to get some decent pictures of me wearing my first knitted dress. Last year I was knitting on and off on this dress from August 2011 till October 2012 - and only now I got to wear it, the weather is finally springy!

knit dress

Pattern: revival by Ankestrick .. the original pattern is for a pullover using the contiguous method. I enjoyed this new method very much. No sewing is always something that catches me. I would change a few little bits when using this yarn again with this method, like not making the arms as wide as I did here. The overall shape though is lovely. The yarn is gorgeous too! it's a cotton/linen/silk blend and I have more than enough to make another dress, so I think I will make a cardigan from the leftovers. The quality feels perfect on the skin with the warmer weather.

Changes to the original pattern: basically I followed the pattern. It's top down which made it a lot easier to turn it into a dress. I added some short rows to create more room for the boobs and I also added waist shaping. The waist shaping also was the base for the increases that I simply continued to create an A-line to the skirt. Turned out great!

I simply love this dress although a knitted garment doesn't hide any curve, if you know what I mean ;)

have a lovely knitting weekend,
Diana

within only three hours the sky changed from dark to beautiful peace this morning, I couldn't resist but take pictures all along the way. On days like these I love my job! I hope you enjoy the view like I did...
